First of all you have to think that you want the phd course through regular mode or distance mode. If you will think of regular mode then you have to fill the form of UGC-NET or GATE examination. The eligibility for the UGC exam is 55% of marks in Master's degree with a recognized university and also the age limit is under 28 years. And also that is eligibility for GATE also. And if you want to do PhD from distance learning university then you have to do M.Phill first. If you will do M.Phill of 1 Year then you are fully eligible for the PhD degree. There is some age relief for the M.Phill degree holder students in UGC NET also.

You have to fill the form of UGC JRF i.e. Junior Research Fellowship if you want to go for the UGC NET exam. If you will pass the exam then you are also eligible for the Lecturer post in any management college or university whether it is govt. or public or Private. So in what mode i.e. regular or distance you want to go decide it first. Best of luck.
