    hi friend.
you need to ask yourself what is it that truly sets your pulse racing? is it technology? can you spend hours reading about and trying to implement different kinds of technology ? then m. tech is the right option for you. if however what interest you more is the business side of things and you have always wondered how business are run and driven, then mba is the right choice for you.
    all the best.

Re: Which will be better of pursuing among MBA and M.Tech?

    Hi,

It is a very common question among engineers but the choice ultimately has to be made according to the strengths and interests. M.Tech and MBA both have their advantages and the scope for success is there after completing both the degrees. By doing M.Tech you limit yourself to a certain field but you cannot switch you fields as you specialize in that as an M,tech is often followed by a Ph.D. By doing MBA you open yourself to a certain field but you can switch industries at least. As you have some work experience too you will get some advantage at the time of admission in both the exams. But as far the cuurent market situtaion is concerned you should go for MBA as it opens you to a very vast field rather than confining you to a smaller feild plus the job opportunities are very good and the salary is very high too. So, In my opinion you should go for MBA.

The streams that you can choose being an engineer so that your career will go on the path to success are:
    • Finance
    • Sales & Marketing
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Telecom Management
    • Human Resources ( HR)
    • Information Technology
    • International Business
    • Marketing
    • Media
    • Operations Management
    All the best!!

Re: Which will be better of pursuing among MBA and M.Tech?

Well both course are equally good in term of getting a good placement and rest depend on your area of interest .

If you have interest in the management fields then you can apply for the MBA.There are many streams in which you can pursue your course and you can choose it according to your area of interest. To get admission in good college you can take exams like CAT,MAT.Both these exams are done in the national level.

CAT exam is conducted by the IIM's and this examination is done for the admission in the IIM's college.IIM's are the best business school in the India. The eligibility criteria for the exam is that you must have done your graduation in any stream with 50% marks .

MAT exam is conducted 4 times in a year and it is conducted by AIMA.The eligibility criteria is you must have done your graduation .There is no percentage bar and the age limit for the examination .

But if you are interested in the technical things then you should go for Mtech because it will give you the details information about the things which you are studying. To get admission in good Mtech college you can take GATE exam.GATE exam is conducted by the IIT's for admission in the IIT's and NIT's and other good colleges which requires GATE score card . Eligibility for the GATE is that you must have done your 4 year engineering degree or you must have done MSC in any science subjects. The GATE score card is valid for 2 years and there is no limit to take the exam.

So choice is your both these courses are very good with respect to future scope .

    dear friend,

According to me you should go for higher study ,I mean Master degree and
then if you can Ph.D in your subject.

You can go for M.Tech or MBA,as your choice.

According to me you should go for Master degree in Computer Sc.'s various subjects .
Then you can gather more and more knowledge in your base subject.
Then you can apply various company or govt sectors with higher salary than B.Tech.

There are so many institutes offering M.Tech in Computer Sc. such as:

    IIT Kanpur

    IIT Kharagpur

    IIT Bombay

    IIT Madras

    IIT Delhi

    BITS Pilani

    IIT Roorkee

    IT-BHU

    IIT Guwahati

    College of Engg, Anna University

Jadavpur University, Faculty of Engg & Tech

    Haldia Institute of Technology(HIT)

    Institute of Engineering and Management(IEM)

    Heritage Institute of Technology(HIT)

    Dr.B.C.Roy Engineering college.

MBA is another line of study, its a business line.

You can choose as your wish.

Re: Which will be better of pursuing among MBA and M.Tech?

    Hello Sir,

After completing the Graduation in Technology – B.Tech, the common question on the lips of most of the students is - whether to do M.Tech or MBA.
What really depends is, in which field one wants to go and where one wants to see his/her career.

If you want to grow with the technical knowledge, you should go for Masters Degree in Technology or M.Tech and if you want to see yourself in the management side, then you should opt MBA- Masters of Business administration.

Some of the graduate students after their B-tech plan to go for the jobs and some wants to continue with their education where they need to decide MBA or M-Tech.

Plus M.Tech is good for jobs as software developers, testers, etc. It also gets you good posts in teaching jobs.

Whereas, after MBA, you work as program managers in firms.

    So, choose what interests you.

    Best Of Luck
