Yes of course MBA in Sikkim Manipal University is definitely a good option. In fact it is cheaper than IIMs or XLRI. Each semester fees goes around 14,000 INR. The classes of SMDU will start as soon as the admission procedure finishes. Since this is a distance university, their class norms will differ from that of the regular classes. You can join in even if few sessions of MBA classes are already taken. To get the latest update on class and admission you need to log onto www.smdu.edu.in.
Since this is a distance university weekend classes are a must, since you see a lot of people do distance courses along with a full time or part time job. So weekend classes save them from being absent in the MBA classes in weekdays. In fact in any distance university you join weekend classes is a key factor that you will observe.
Just one small thing I want to mention is that your graduation stream must be from BBA or BBM to be eligible for MBA in Sikkim Manipal. Also if you belong to some other graduation stream then you must have a minimum 6 month diploma in management to get admitted in SMDU.
