Re: What is the procedure to apply for CAT entrance exam?

    Hello friend .......

Procedure to apply for the CAT entrance exam

CAT is the Common Admission Test for the admission into the IIMs and other top B-Schools of India. Based on the percentile score of yours in the CAT entrance exam and then after GD and PI you can get the admission in the IIMs.

The eligibility to apply for the CAT entrance exam is then the candidate should have passed a minimum three years of graduation degree with a minimum of 50% of the marks from any discipline but from a recognized university.
There is relaxation of the marks of 5% for the SC/ST candidates so they have to get only 45% to become eligible for the CAT exam.

To apply for the CAT you may register online from the official website http://www.catiim.in/

If you satisfy the above eligibility criteria then you can apply for the CAT exam.

This was the required procedure to apply for the CAT exam. Hope this would clear your queries.

Best of luck for your CAT exam.

    Regards

Re: What is the procedure to apply for CAT entrance exam?

    hello,

    Basic eligibility for CAT;
The qualification criterion that is needed for a student to apply for the Common Admission Test is a graduate degree from an approved college. The students can be from any stream, but they are required to have a score of atleast 50 percent in their final exams. Students of the Sc/St/PH and OBC communities require only 45 percentage marks. Those who are writing their final year exam are qualified to appear for the exam too.

    Who can apply for CAT?
All permanent residents of India are eligible to appear for the test. In addition to it, foreign nationals who fulfill the needed eligibly criterion can apply for the Common Admission Test.

    good luck

    Common Admission Test (CAT)

it is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for the admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in management courses of several management institutes in India including the IIMs. On the basis of CAT percentile score, eligible candidates are short listed and called for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview

    CAT Application Procedure
The candidates have to first buy the CAT voucher. Registration should be done online at www.catiim.in. Candidates must have a valid email id as IIMs will do all the communications by that email id only.

    CAT Eligibility

The candidate must hold a Bachelorís Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories), awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelorís degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university / institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidateís CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelorís degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

Re: What is the procedure to apply for CAT entrance exam?

Testing minutes CAT paper has traditionally been a 120.

CAT mandates that the test taker perform equally in all sections of the test. As a whole is not enough to get a good score in the exam - candidates CAT paper three / four in each of the classes have done well. To perform equally well when we talk, we look at it as a relative measure. Expected to take more than a million candidates in addition to the CAT this year, in each of your selections by an average score of a certain number of points in order to be able to qualify. To mark off each section group discussion (GD) and interview stage to be eligible to receive a call, so you have to cross the goal is a minimum cut. Minimum cut - off from IIM to IIM required in each section can vary, and the other 30 for each of the selection process for institutions that use CAT scores. It seems reasonable that the cut-off scores required for many of the other institutions required for IIM would be slightly lower than that.

but do well in every section.
    Tests include the following: -
    Quantitative aptitude
    Reading Comprehension
    Verbal Ability
    Interpreting the data
    Logic
    Data adequacy.
