Re: What is the eligibility criteria for MBA entrance exam?

    hi dear

The eligibility for each of these programs varies from institute to institute and it is recommended that you specifically refer to the website of a particular B-school when taking a final decision.
    One-year Full-time MBA Program
The eligibility criteria for a one-year program from a reputed institute, such as ISB are:
    (a) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline
    (b) Minimum age - 27 years at the start of the course
    (c) GMAT score obtained, not earlier than April 1, 2002 for batch starting April 2006
Read more about the one-year full-time MBA program
    Part-time MBA Program
The eligibility criteria for a part-time program from a reputed institute are:
    (a) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university
    (b) Minimum 2 years of supervisory work experience after graduation

Students are admitted to the program if they qualify through a two stage selection process modeled on the more popular full-time entrance procedure, that is, a written test and a personality assessment.
Read more about part-time MBA program
    Distance-learning MBA Programs
The eligibility criteria for a distance-learning program from a reputed institute are:
    (a) Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university. Diploma holders
need to also possess three-year work experience.
    (b) B-schools select students based on entrance exams that test the analytical, verbal and numerical abilities of students.

For distance learning programs, entrance exams are normally there only for reputed B-schools, which also tend to conduct contact classes and are hence looking for a certain pedigree of students.
Read more about the distance-learning MBA program
    Specialized MBA Programs
The admission process consists of B-schools entrance tests very similar to those administered for the full- time program. These institutes also check the candidate's academic record, work experience and performance in the GD and PI. Entrances vary with institutes.

In India, the options for doing a specialized MBA include agri-business management (IIM A, L), rural management (Institute of Rural Management, Anand, Gujarat; NMIMS, Mumbai), forest management (Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal), retail management (KJ Somaiya and Welingkar, Mumbai). However, most of these courses are highly specialized and you must be very sure of your career path before opting for such a course.

    MBA in India
You need to have a bachelor's degree (3-year course) or equivalent in any discipline recognised by any Indian University / AICTE as eligible for post-graduate studies.
You can apply while you are in your final year of graduation. If you do get through the admission test, you will be given provisional admission on the condition that you provide your mark sheet and a certificate of passing by a certain date.

    US & Europe
The basic qualifying exam for doing an MBA outside India (US, Europe, Australasia) is the GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test) conducted in centers across India.
After you get your GMAT results, you need to apply for admission to specific institutes. There is normally no GD or Personal Interview process (like in India) - however, different institutes have different processes and criteria for admitting students.
