hi.. Indira Gandhi open university is one of the best distance education universities in world and there is no doubt that if you want an distance education degree ,be it in any field then its best to join this college because it would really help you lot if you have an degree form IGNOU ,in mba the brand name does matters ,but leaving all this apart i would suggest you to not go for an distance education mba because if you compare this with an regular mba there is no match between the two,the kind of education the regular mba students get and the kind of education that you will get will be completely different in an distance education mode ,also there is great difference in the pay of the both kind of courses the pay which you will get will be just an fraction of the pay which you can get after the regular mba course from an good college ,i was just trying to give an another dimension to your thinking ,if you don't have any other choice ut to just do an distance mba then Indira Gandhi open university would be on of the best options for you

Of course, you can opt for a MBA via distance learning mode. It will have no impact, not even 1% by doing distance MBA course if you are experienced, full of skills and talents. In today's world regular classes are said as "Traditional Way of Learning". Now this traditional way of learning makes individual book worm rather than expertise in the practical real world. I don't mean regular classes are not good but the reality, fact is a distance learner doing job and gaining experience and taking job and education together will get highly successful than the person who is focused simply on the theories inside books. My friend, theory doesn't work in the real world, they are good to learn, make concepts and realize but until and unless you get full exposure in the practical and real corporate world you are nothing. I have seen the scenarios where regular MBA students are the Staffs working under the Supervision of the Distance MBA Holders and the only reason was they were well experienced and had a sharp mind to search and solve the issues. A Distance learner develops the Independent Nature in solving issues as he is habituated in searching and preparing for his questions through out his studies. He doesn't need a Supervision or say guidance/teacher so the same level of expertise and capability work when they face their real life in the Organization. In today's 21st century employers treat education as a criteria, lets say entry ticket which had no value if pursued without further experience and knowledge. Only Employers with the small scope of expansion and progress stuck in the candidates certificates for finding whether its a distance, regular etc. Big Organizations lets say United Nations, Microsoft and other International Companies thrive for the talented candidates. So, it makes no sense that IGNOU MBA's doesn't have good scope in the Job Market. IGNOU Course materials are referred by the regular colleges in their MBA Curriculum, IGNOU MBA is even tough than the curriculum set by the regular colleges, do compare yourself you will definitely see the results. IGNOU is also the Central University, largest university, it's MBA is recognized by AICTE (A statutory body of the Govt. of India). This recognitions are more than enough for a Central University to get accepted in the Job Markets throughout the world.
My friend simply do research by yourself, see the examples of the MBA holders with distance learning surely you will see most of them in the Top Level Management of International Companies so those people and you are made up of same flesh and bones, you can also do it. But, please don't listen to anyone otherwise you will be the victim of jealousy. People will continue to tell you that IGNOU MBA is useless but you do it and use those jealousy people as your future staffs under your supervision. Believe me through IGNOU MBA you will not only gain your recognized Degree but also confidence, maturity, talents for which several good job offers will follow your way
