Now the eligibility for the various MBA entrance exams is that you must have a graduate degree from any discipline with minimum 50% of the marks but from a recognized university/college. You are also eligible to apply when you are in the final year of your engineering course.
The basic pattern for most of the MBA entrance exams is that the questions are generally asked from the sections Quantitative aptitude , Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Analytical reasoning , Comprehensions , Grammar etc.
So if you want to crack any of the above MBA entrance exams then you need have very much clear concept about these sections.
Now as you are in the 2nd year of your engineering degree so starting earlier will give you more time to acquire the skills and practice needed for the entrance exams.
Firstly , you need to develop the leadership skills and correct your conversation skills while in your engineering degree. This would greatly help you in your group discussion and interview .
Side by side you should make a habit of reading the English newspapers and learn 20 new words along with their meaning and even try to use those new words in your day-to-day life which would help you in increasing you vocabulary skills which is very much required for cracking the CAT entrance exam for getting into the IIMs and other good colleges.
Also you should practice the Quantitative aptitude regularly for developing the required skills of solving those problems because in this case "practice makes a man perfect"
And do regular practice with the previous years papers and other sample papers which would help in boosting the confidence level in you.
Here I am referring you some of the books required for the preparation you can purchase then from any of the book store.
