You can say that you are good with dealing people and HR is a place where you have to deal with mixed group of people with different emotional and mental wavelengths so you wanted to brush your skills in that genre and you mastered in it. Now you can handle the employees of your interviewr's company in a real skilled manner.
If you really want to impress your HR manager ,don’t go on talking to him about your love with your core subjects ,to answer this question . This is because an HR is required to look after the needs of all the departments of a company irrespective of whether it has a biotechnological background or not !
An HR has to ensure a healthy and professional environment in an organization …so keeping in mind the above said thing an answer like one given below ,would be an accurate one ….take a look !
I chose to be an HR because I am person who finds himself to be comfortable to be in public, with new people …. I can maintain a strong network of relationships across the organization…I want to keep all the employees of organization happy at workbecause it makes me happy to see them working without any mental strains …besides it can be helpful for my firm as tension free minds can provide a better efficiency …I want communication to be clear, that peoples’ voices are heard, that laws and policies are followed, and that privacy and respect is maintained. Finally since I belong to a technical background and your company desires something technical ,so I feel I would fit perfectly in this position (in case you are applying for a technical firm )…
All the best!
Hi friend,
For other background people also face the same problem. You can say that during the course of graduation i came to know about my self as good in interacting with the people. So at the time of pursuance of my graduation i decided to go with MBA HR which is best option for me and where i can surely get best opportunities. That's why i came to MBA HR after Bsc Biotechnology.
Hi Dear,
Answer for your basic doubt you should have planned before selecting the subjects & MBA and while changing your domain. Never mind you can answer
very crystal clearly about your career objectives. So please always think about what is your objective to do or selecting the MBA course, in spite there
are many related specialisations still available which will keep you in the biotechnology or matching to that profession. OK.
So I suggest you that what ever you say in saying about your passion and likeness the HR can catch your nerve and can understand that you have some
ulterior thoughts about the subject.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Therefore, I think if you can express yourself like this for example:
"I did my graduation in Biotechnology but developed a passion to do MBA in Human Resource Management, since Human Relations and the vital resource
of any organisation are their HR Asset, and I feel that I can better perform in this field, hence I have done my MBA in HRM"
Further, if he asks you that it has changed your domain then how can you think that you can excel in this field.
For this you can say that:-
"My specialisation in the MBA that is HRM-Human Resource Management, can be practised in any organisation including the field of biotechnology or related
manufacturing sector too. And there is no bar for applying the principles of management as they are universal."
-------------------------------------------------------
I think the above answers would make you sound more honest and competitive. OK
Best of luck..
