Eligibility to do MBA in SMU is:
    • the candidate should complete their 10+2 or any other equivalent degree
    • the student can also do diploma if 10+2 because it is equivalent to the course
    • it is 2 year course for the candidates who want to pursue their MBA after completion of the graduation
    • if the candidate wants to do graduation within the course then the student can take it in degree level
    • by taking (BBA)
    • we can also do post graduation if we want
    • for doing PG diploma the candidate should be done his/her MBA in a relevant course with a aggregate of 50%
    • relaxation will be there for sc/st candidates it is 45%
    • students who past completed their diploma and MBA should keep their area of diploma and graduation with MBA as certificate to get into post graduation
    hope the information helps you...............

If you want to go for regular course MBA in SMU then you can go for it. But if you are thinking about distance course in SMU then you should think once again because its DEC approval has expired. Without DEC approval i.e. Distance Education Council approval no any university can launch or conduct courses through distance learning.

SMU had DEC approval but its approval has now expired. You can go for official website of dec i.e. www.dec.ac.in to see its approval. But if you are thinking of the regular course in its main campus then you can go for it because that is fully recognized with UGC.

Better you should go for IGNOU if you are thinking of distance education MBA. Because IGNOU MBA is fully recognized with UGC and also AICTE. You should have to give the entrance test OPENMAT for it.

But if you don't want to go for entrance test then you can go for another university for distance education. You should first opt Central university then state University then Deemed and Private University.

You can go for these State Govt. Universities which study centers are also like SMU i.e. Nearest to your location.

    1. IGNOU.

    2. Annamalai University.

    3. Periyar University.

    4. IASE Deemed University.

    5. Karnataka State Open University KSOU.

    6. M S University. Best of luck.

In keeping with the spirit of AICTE directives on admission to the MBA Program and as per the decision of the Academic Senate, the University will conduct, from the current Spring drive, an Admission test called the SMUDE Management Aptitude Test (SMAT). This test will be a proctored one. The result sheet of the test duly signed by the proctor should be attached along with the other documents when they are sent to the University for admission. However, students who meet any one of the following criteria would be exempted from taking the SMAT
3 Year Graduation from a recognized University AND student must qualify in the #entrance test conducted by University

#Exemption for entrance test conducted by the University to MBA program:

    • A candidate has a score card of National / International MBA Entrance Test* and his/her score is 45 percentile or above. However, the score card should not be more than one year old at the time of admission at SMU-DE
All are advised to comply with the above mentioned requirement.
