There is no change in syllabus however CAT pattern has changed to two sections with individual time limit.CAT notification is out and there is a 20day test window starting from 22 oct till 18 nov.MAT exam is conducted four times in a year and next exam will be in december.XAT notification has not yet come.Last year it was conducted in the month of january.

MAT 2011 Syllabus:- The MAT comprises of multiple choice objective type questions in the areas of Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical/Abstract Reasoning. In all there would be 200 questions to be answered in a total time of two and half hours (i.e. One hundred and fifty minutes). There is negative marking in some of the exam schedules and the exam is conducted 4 times in a year.

- Paper Based Test is being conducted on the first Sunday of the February, May, September and December from 1000-1230 hours
- Computer Based Test is being conducted from Saturday onwards (6 days after the Paper Based Test date) and in different Time slots.

The total question is 127, XAT question Paper had 3 sections (Reading Comprehension & English - 40 Questions,Quantitative Ability - 44 Questions,Data Interpretation and Reasoning - 43 Questions) and every question was of 1 mark each and negative marking was 1/3rd for first five wrong answers and 1/2 marks for more than 5 questions in each sections.

CAT (Common Admission Test)
When anyone thinks about doing MBA, the first and foremost entrance exam to think about is none other than the Common Admission Test (CAT). The CAT is conducted majorly for the admissions in the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). But, it is also accepted by other prominent management institutions in the country. It is a two and a half hours exam comprising of questions form sections like, arithmetic and logical reasoning skills, problem solving skills, data interpretation, puzzles type questions, English language skills, etc… The scores are calculated on the percentile basis, hence the students who are scoring above 99 percentile, besides higher scores in all the sections would be considered for next higher stages in the MBA admission program. No wonder, why CAT is considered as tougher and difficult exam to crack, isn’t it?
XAT (Xavier Admission Test)
It is designed and developed for the MBA admissions at XLRI, Jamshedpur. But, it is considered also considered as the entrance exam for MBA admissions by more than 70 management institutions. It consists of three sections, namely, quantitative ability and reasoning, reading comprehension and verbal, and data interpretation. It also comprises of a separate section for essay writing.
MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
It is conducted by the subdivision of All India Management Association, which is called as the Centre for Management Services with aptitude based, objective type questions for MBA admissions across the country. It is also been rewarded with the status of National Entrance Test by the Ministry of HRD, government of India, hence plays a prominent role in the MBA admissions for various AICTE approved management institutions.

The duration of the test is 2 hours and 30 minutes including initial 15 minute tutorial. No breaks will be given during the test. The test consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretation abilities. Therefore, there are a total of three sections in the test. There will be about 60 questions in the test.
At the test venue, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room.

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate should have a graduation from a recognized university with at least 60% of marks. For SC/ST candidates 55% is required.
