If you will go for the UGC NET exam that is enough and good for you to go for the lecturer post in any university of India. If you will apply for UGC JRF exam i.e. junior research fellowship then you can also do PhD from a good university as well as go for the Lecturer post in any university in India. The eligibility criteria for the exam is 55% and above marks in Master degree with a UGC and Specially with AIU recognized university. The age criteria for the JRF exam is 28 years maximum. But if you will cross the 28 years of age then you can go for the UGC NET exam. There is no any age criteria for the NET exam.

If you will pass the JRF exam then you can go both PhD and Lecturer post. And if you will pass in NET exam then you will go only Lecturer post, in that case you can go for the PhD course through distance learning. Best of luck.

Dear if you wants to become a lecturer then you need to qualify the entrance test of UGC which is National Eligibility test and once if you qualify this test and complete process with good score then you do not need to go for any other course and to get assistance in your final selection you may go for B.Ed and D.Ed also because both are from educational stream and you will get preference in your selection if you complete these course but for B.Ed you need to have an experience of at least 2 years in relevant field so that you should start preparation for NET Test and try to qualify this test at once and to apply for it you have enough qualification means you have completed your master's degree but dear you should have at least 55% marks in MBA and 50% marks for SC/STs

You should prepare for this exam according to the syllabus and examination pattern because if you will follow the syllabus and use some previous years question papers then you may easily qualify this exam and for that i have attached the complete syllabus and some previous years question papers for this exam please download

If you go for M.Phil then it would be better but if you choose PhD then it would be better than all other courses and you must have good command over your specialization subject then only you will be able to qualify the entrance test

    Examination Pattern :

Paper I - Teaching and Research Aptitude - 60 questions for 100 marks and 50 questions compulsory

Paper II - Based on your selected specialization subject for NET test - 50 questions and 100 marks

Paper III - Based on your selected specialization subject for NET test - 75 questions for 150 marks

Qualifying in each paper is compulsory for every category candidate

    All the best

    • To become an lecturer, you must have to apply for the National eligibility test (NET) conducted by UGC.
    • It requires you need to have the post graduation degree in any stream with having 55% marks from an recognised university.
    • If you are from the sc/st category or you are physically handicapped then 50% marks in post graduation degree is the minimum requirement.
    • There is no upper age limit for the lectureship, so you can apply for it at any age.
    • You can also go for mphil, it opens extra opportunities for you.
