The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) Conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for Lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian Nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and Research. The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science Application and Electronic Science. The council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the UGC-CSIR NET for other Science Subjects also.
University Grants Commissions (UGC) conducts NET exam twice a year in the month of June and December. The notifications announcing the June and December examination are published in the months of March and September respectively in the Weekly Journal of National wide circulation and in the Employment News Paper.
You should have Master Degree (or equivalent Degree) and secured 55% Marks for General Category and 50% marks for SC/ST and PH/VH for appearing in UGC-CSIR NET Exam for June, 2012.

As per the eligibility criteria A candidate require to have minimum 50% in his graduation from any recognized university. A final year candidate and result awaited candidate may also apply for the same.

Genrally UGC is conducted in the month of june & September and dates annouce for the month of JUNE exam in March and for the month of sepetember in Aug.

NET exam is conducted by UGC to maintain the min level in Indian education system. once you qualify NET then you will be eligible for lectureship in any govt as well as in private college.you will get all the salary and other facilities as per rules by university grant commission. to apply for NET you must have master degree with min 55 % for general and obc category.for ST/Sc candidates min 50 % required in master degree. htere will be three level in NET-
general studies( 50 objective questions)
your optional ( 50 objective type question)
your optional( subjective)
if you qualify first paper then your second paper will be checked and so on.you must clear first two paper then your third paper will be checked.
