If your College is recognized with UGC and specially AIU then you can fill the form of UGC NET examination. There is no need that your MBA degree should be approved by AICTE. You can easily see the UGC recognition in UGC website. Go to www.ugc.ac.in and click on Quick Link Tab which is Left down corner in the website and click Private University in it.

After clicking you can see the State List in the website. Click on State in which your University is situated and you can see the recognition. In AIU website you can see www.aiuweb.org and click on Member Listing Tab which is in upper tabs. Click by alphabet of your University Name and you can see the recognition.

Don't worry about AICTE approval. If your university is recognized with UGC which is enough. You can fill the form of UGC NET and UGC JRF exam. The eligibility criteria is 55% and above marks in Master Degree. In JRF exam you should have the age of under 28 years. In JRF exam you can do PhD and go for Lecturer in University.

But in UGC NET exam you cannot go for PhD but you can go for Lecturer post in any university. Mainly you will go for Lecturer post in Management colleges. There is no any age limit for NET exam. Best of luck.

    Hello Friend ,

Eligibility for doing UGC NET exam is that you need to have Masters' degree in any discipline and it must be recognized under UGC . Approval of AICTE hardly matters , but your institute must have UGC recognition and since you have said that you have done MBA hemce you need to study two more years in order to sit for entrance exam of UGC NET exam .....

So you must posses Masters degree with 55% in any discipline ....

    GOOD LUCK

Eligibility for UGC - NET Entrance Examination - National Eligibility Test

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master's Degree or PG Degree or Equivalent examination from a recognized institute or university by UGC are eligible to apply for test

Candidates who are pursuing final semester/year of PG or appearing for examination or have appeared are also eligible to apply for UGC NET Test but their percentage marks should be minimum 55% after completing in aggregate but these percentage marks are relaxed in case of SC, ST and PWD candidates and they need to have only 50% marks in PG or Master's degree in any discipline

Candidates belonging to SC or ST or PWD or OBC (Non Creamy Layer) will have to submit attested copy of the category or caste certificate along with online printout of application form of UGC NET Test

Age limits does not requires in fixed limitations means you can apply for this test at any stage of the age

If you have completed your master's degree from a non-AICTE recognized university then you should not worry about that and just apply for the test because if your university is recognized by other reputed and recognized bodies as - UGC or NAAC etc. then also you may apply for this exam means recognition of AICTE is not mandatory

Examination Pattern for UGC NET Entrance Test : There will be following papers conducted in this examination

Paper I - 60 questions out of which 50 are mandatory and contains 100 marks - This paper will contains various topics related to general aptitude or teaching and research including other subjects as reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking etc.

Paper II - 50 questions will be asked and all questions are necessary - 100 marks - This paper will be based on the subject selected by the candidate

Paper III - 75 questions for 150 marks and all 75 questions are mandatory - This paper also based on the subject selected by the candidate for main in UGC NET examination and both of papers II and III will cover whole syllabus for that subject that you choose for examination as specialization

The eligibility criterion of the UGC-NET exam is as follows-

-You should have completed post graduation(masters degree) from a recognized university by UGC..

-you should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in Masters degree.

-for SC/ST and PH type candidates the minimum score needed is 50% in Masters degree.

-there is no age limit for the exam.

-even those candidates who are currently in the final year of masters degree can appear for the exam.

as you have mentioned that you have done MBA from university , which is not recognized by the AICTE , so you can still appear for the exam , if the university is recognized/approved by UGC.
you should select the subjects of the exam as per your field of specialization.

for more details you can visit- www.ugc.ac.in

    good luck
