    Eligibility for IES after doing MBA in Finance?

    hi sir i have done MBA in finance can i apply for IES exam i am not much sure whether it comes in buisiness economics or not please advise me...

    IES is the Indian Engineering Service exam. This is one of the exams being conducted by UPSC for those who wish to join the Government service. It is a must that the candidate should have completed at least graduation in engineering.

    Eligibility criteria for IES Examination:-

    => Aspirant should have a engineering degree from a recognized university.

    => Aspirant have appeared for final year examination can also apply.

    =>
    The age of the Aspirant should be between 21 to 30 years.

    => Aspirant's engineering branch should be from given below or you can apply in these categories only. i.e.


    1. Civil Engineering.
    2. Mechanical Engineering.
    3. Electrical Engineering.
    4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

    If you are talking about IES or Indian Economic Service exams than this exam is conducted by UPSC once each year
    Eligibilty to apply for the IES Exam is: Post Graduation degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics .

    Age- Minimum 21 years
    Maximum 30 years
    SC/ST candidates can apply till 35 years
    OBC can apply till 33 years

    So, if you meet the above eligibilty, than you can apply for this exams.
    Questions will be asked from below sections in the IES exams:General English
    General Studies
    General Economics-I
    General Economics-II
    General Economics-III
    Indian Economics

    Friend , one thing i would like to know that why aren't you applying for a job , as you have done your MBA in Finance so i would rather suggest you to look for a job instead of wasting energy and your time , money in completing MBA .     As you know IES stand for Indian Engineering Service , Eligibility are :

    > > A candidate must be a citizen of India .

    > > Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years on 1st January, 2012 i.e. he/she must have been born between 2nd January, 1982 and 1st January, 1991.


    > > Age Relaxation: upper age limit of 30 years is relax able up to 35 years for SC/ST candidates .


    Educational Qualifications:


    For admission to the examination, a candidate must have (any one of the following )


    ● obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or


    ● passed Section A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or


    ● obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or


    ● passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or


    ● passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or


    ● passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.


    ● Candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts and Engineer Group 'A' in Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organisation) may possess any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely:


    M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.

    IES stand for Indian Engineering Service exam , this exam is conducted by UPSC every year to recruit candidates for technical works . Here are the eligibility that you must posses for appearing in IES exam :

    > > Graduation degree in Engineering (B.TECH/M/TECH )

    > > Age must be above 21 years but not more than 30 years .

    > > There is an limitation of attempts too that is :

    For General Category : 4 attempts

    For obc: 7 attempts

    for SC/ST : no limits

    If you have all theses criteria that i have mention , then yes , you are eligible for IES exam ...

    This Exam has the Similar Eligibility as the ISS (Indian Statistical services )


    Eligibility for the IES ExaminationEducational Qualifications :


    You must complete the Post Graduation from the below streams

    >> Applied Economics

    >> Business Economics

    >> Economics

    >> Econometrics


    Age criteria :

    The Age should be in between 21 to 30 years


    >> There is a Relaxation for the category students and You must submit the Caste Certificate at the Time of Application
