Eligibility to get admission in IIM for MBA with 59.25% in economics honors?

    sir,
I have completed Economics Honours from Calcutta University.I have scored 59.25% and CU is an extremely low scoring board! If i do really well in CAT, can i make it to IIM A? I have 94% in class 10, and 88% in class 12.

Since i am pursuing Masters in Applied Economics, which marks will be considered during admission?the graduation marks? or the post graduation marks?

    thank you!

mainly your score in CAT shall aid you in getting shortlisted for IIM A. once you get shortlisted you will need to appear in a second round of group discussion and personal interview. for an institute like IIM A you will need to score atleast 99 percentile and also have an extremely strong profile. your low percentage in eco hons may be questioned during the personal interview round so be prepared will a good, intelligent answer.

right now concentrate on scoring well in cat. prepare really well and in a disciplined manner.

    Hi

Your 10th and 12th marks are good. However you have low marks in you graduation but you are still eligible for CAT.
IIM A have a very large pool of candidates with excellent academic background. So you have less chance to get into IIM A.
Get atleast 99.8+ percentile to get a call for GD/WAT and PI from IIM A.

Your final admission is subjected to following
    10th marks
    2. 12th marks
    3. graduation marks
    4. work ex
    5. CAT score
    6. GD
    7. Personal Interview
    8. Extra Curriculum

If you have done exceptionally well in all the components of selection. You have good chance to get admission, if not IIM A then other IIMs

    All the best
