As far as your qualifications are concerned, they are fit for you to sit for the CAT exam.
In order to get into one of the IIM's,you need to give the CAT exam.
Try to get a very good percentile in this exam!

Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test held in India. This test scores a person on the bases of Quantitative Ability,Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning.

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test as an important component in selecting

IIM is regarded as one of the Premier MBA college not only in India but also in Asia

IIM College MBA course selection procedure involves:
    >> Written Test- CAT
    >> Group Discussion (GD)

Now to get a call for the GD and PI stage of the selection procedure you need to score atleast 98 percentile marks in the CAT exams
If you get this you attend the GD and PI
Final selection is based on the marks scored in Written test, GD and PI
Some marks is also alloted to Academic performance, Work experience and projects undertaken

Your academic marks is good, only thing is now that you fill the CAT forms and try to score 98 percentile marks

Re: Eligibility to get admission in IIM for MBA?

hello friend as given your acdemic performance is fair also you have a relevant work experience..then as you have good chances for admission to other iims like lucknow, calcutta, fms etc. also fair chances at iim ahemdabad, iim bangalore, as you have good work experience of 36 months.i.e plus point to you and for your profile and strengthen your profile rating.a good cat score of around 98 percentile to 99 percentile will provide you chance from iim a and iim b ...rest other iims strongly focuses on cat performance and group discussion and personal interveiw performance..... so do not worry first focus on cat .rest leave it to god and luck.... fms calls students on cat score basis solely but with high focus on verbal percentile you should have minimum 98.5 percentile in cat verbal portion to achieve a fms call your over all score for fms should be 95 to 99 pecentile regards and all the best

Re: Eligibility to get admission in IIM for MBA?

    hi friend

If you are going to take admission for IIM

and it have tough competition over India.

So poorly i tell you Academic Marks will affect on this.

50% weight age for the overall CAT score,

20% weight age for academic performance in secondary school,

20% weight age for higher secondary school and

10% weight age for the work experience of the candidate.

So you have Experience So you can get 10% profit.

Lets Calculate your percentile and so we can get How much you have to score in CAT.

    10th % is 86
    12th is 77

so average of academic performance is 81.5 so 20% of it is 17%

    B.tech % is 64.5% and 20% of it is 12.9%

and work exp is 3 year so you get 10% of it.

and IIM need minimum 90 percentile so

    17+12.9+10+x=90

    so x = 50

you have made marks for CAT will out of so you can get Admission for IIM.

    hope this will help you.

    All the best........
