the eligibility for cat exam is Graduation(either full time or by correspondence) with 50% marks..
After graduating from commerce u can go for Charted accountant, CS,post graduation in economics, MBA and many more options are there.
It is not compulsory to go for MAT to do MBA.... lots of institution have there own exams like XAT, CMAT, IRMA, IIFT etc..

    Dear..

If we talk about the eligibility of CAT then CAT is a exam conducted once in a year by IIM's of India for admission in their management program. The eligibility of the exam is as follows :-
    1. A graduate degree with at least 50% marks is required to be eligible for the common entrance test.

Pattern :- Exam is conducted in the month of October to December and result comes out in the month of January.

Paper has questions from :- Mathematics, Reasoning, English and General ability.

Now coming to your second question about the combination will be CA, ICWA and CS. All these course are highly in demand.

Writing MAT is not at all compulsory as we have many other entrance exam as well such as CAT, XAT, SNAP, IBSAT, NMAT and FMS.

    Hope it will help you

    Cheers...!!!
