hi..the area in which you have done your graduation does not matter at all with the type of master of business administration course which you are interested in doing ,the thing that matters the most is the interest you have for the field and also whether you have any prior experience of job in that filed because having an prior experience will definitely boost of getting an better job than an fresher ,
also the best time to go for an master of business administration course is after the completion of your graduation and doing at least an two years of job in an good multinational companies because of the following reasons :
    1. most of the business schools in the country prefer to take admission of students who are experienced candidates in some or other job because they feel that the experienced candidates are in better position to understand the various concepts thought in an business school and also the companies that come for interview in the master of business colleges prefer the experienced candidates at the time of giving job because they feel that they need not give any training to the experienced candidates were as they have to give some training to the freshers ,
2.you would have used the various things that you will study during the duration of your course in your job whether knowingly or unknowingly and hence you your self can understand the various things in an better way.
3.also the most of the education given in the master of business administration course is through the interaction of the students and the teachers and also the students among themselves and if you are an experienced student then you can yourself discuss in an better way .
4.also the pay offered by the various companies for an experienced candidates is far better than the fresher candidates

so the steps that you should take now is :

1.complete your graduation first with an good score because even the percentage of marks scored in the graduation matters a lot at the time of admission in the various MBA colleges and hence you should try to increase it as much as possible ,
2.join some job in your campus interview and try to work for at least two years in that job
3.then join some coaching institute along with doing the job, like the TIME institute, because they would really guide you well and also help you in overcoming your weaknesses in and also there study materials are one of the best in the country for the cat examination which will help you to perform really well in the various admission tests conducted by the MBA colleges

No work experience is not necessary for MBA you just need to be graduated with 50% marks from a recognised university .So as you are in 3rd year so in your final year you can write MBA ENTRANCE EXAM LIKE CAT, MAT, XAT etc. Just maintain your degree at least 50% to appear for MBA ENTRANCE. . . . .GOOD LUCK
