    Dear..

It is a very good thing that you have made up your mind and want to apply for MBA. The entrance exams that you have mentioned here are of different nature. I will now tell you everything which needs your attention.

GMAT :- GMAT stands for graduate management aptitude test. It is a exam conducted on a International level for admission in Foreign universities. GMAT score are not used for admission in most of the Indian colleges. The exam of GMAT is a objective type exam and score is valid for 5 years. that means once you get good marks then you can use that marks for admission within a span of 5 years of time.

CAT :- CAT is common admission test. It is a exam conducted once in a year and IIM'S are the conducting body of the exam. The score of this exam is used by all the MBA colleges in India and a good score can help you in getting into the IIM's. The exam is generally held in the later half of the year that means in the month of October to December.

Both the exams are gone for the year 2012 so you have to wait till next year. Do prepare well as these exams are considered as one of the toughest exam available.

Preparation materials are available easily at every book store. refer quicker maths, RS agarwal, Upkar publication and also solve previous year paper.

    Hope it will help you

    Cheers...!!!

Hi, GRE, GMAT and CAT are different exams with different purpose. GRE - Lot of emphasis on Vocab, analytical section GMAT - More emphasis on reasoning, vocab based questions absent, No analytical section as such, but 2 essays, which are very important and needs some practice. CAT - Ecerything from GMAT and GRE, and some additional things. Overall GMAT is not as difficult as CAT.
