    Dear to apply for Indian civil service examination, you should posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination

    Your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

    Examination Pattern and Selection Procedure for this test :

    Preliminary Examination : There will be following papers conducted in this test :

    Paper I - General Studies - Objective Type - 200 marks - 2 Hours

    Paper II - CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Objective Type - 200 marks - 2 Hours

    Qualifying in preliminary Examination is mandatory because this test is conducted to find out candidates who deserve for mains examination and your scored marks of prelims exam will not be added anywhere in the selection process and if you could not qualify this test then you will not be allowed to apply for mains exam

    Mains Examination : There will be following 7 papers conducted in conventional type only and qualifying in each paper is mandatory :

    Paper I - Essay - 200 marks, English Language and Comprehension - 100 marks = 300 marks

    Paper II, III, IV, V - General Studies - I, II, III and IV - 250 marks each

    Paper VI and VII - Optional Subject Paper - I and II - 250 marks each

    You may choose anyone optional subject for mains examination from the following list :

    Agriculture
    Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
    Anthropology
    Botany
    Chemistry
    Civil Engineering
    Commerce and Accountancy
    Economics
    Electrical Engineering
    Geography
    Geology
    History
    Law
    Management
    Mathematics
    Mechanical Engineering
    Medical Science
    Philosophy
    Physics
    Political Science and International Relations
    Psychology
    Public Administration
    Sociology
    Statistics
    Zoology

    Personality Test : 275 marks and you will be called for interview only after qualifying mains examination by scoring minimum qualifying marks in the examination so you should prepare well for this test

    If you want to become an IAS Officer then you should think about your career as IAS and just begin your preparation for this examination because this year's civil service preliminary examination has been conducted at 26th of May 2013 and mains examination will be conducted at 1st of December 2013 so you must start preparation for next year's civil service examination and join any good coaching institute to prepare for this examination because coaching institute may help you a lot in getting your goal that is why you may prefer anyone of the following institutes for the preparation of this test :

    ABOUT IAS EXAM .


    IAS exam stand for Indian Administrative Service ( IAS exam ) conducted by UPSC every year , to recruit eligible candidates for various post under Govt. departments . This exam is very popular among youth , and also hold lot of prestigious position and power too . But the exam is said to be very difficult . There are lacs. of candidates who appear for exam , but unfortunately , only thousand (1500) will be selected for an next stage , and then after next stage only (100 )students can make their dream come true .

    THE EXAM SELECTION PROCEDURE

    The exam is said to have three stage , candidates needs to clear all three round /stage so as to get job in Govt.Sector . The stages are as follows :

    > > PRELIM

    > > MAINS

    > > INTERVIEW

    * * The notification of exam usually releases in the month of March ,in all leading news papers and exam is conducted in the month of May ( 1 stage ) that is Prelim .

    > > Clearing of 1 stage will lead you to enter in 2nd stage ( MAIN exam ) , exam of Main , is usually conducted in the month of Oct-Nov.

    > > And the final stage : Interview round , that take place in the month of Feb.

    SYLLABUS FOR PRELIM EXAM :

    The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 400 marks.


    There are two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.


    Paper I -(200 marks) Duration : Two hours


    Current events of national and international importance


    History of India and Indian National Movement


    Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic


    Geography of India and the World.


    Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.


    Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.


    General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change .




    Paper II-(200 marks) Duration : Two hours


    Comprehension : Interpersonal skills including communication skills;


    Logical reasoning and analytical ability


    Decision making and problem solving


    General mental ability


    Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)



    UPSC Civil Services Main Examination Revised Syllabus Pattern 2013


    The UPSC has revised the pattern of Civil Services Main examination from 2013.


    Now there are 7 + 2 = 9 papers to be answered in the main examination and all of them are of descriptive type. There are two qualifying papers of 300 marks each 1) any modern Indian language 2) English, whose marks will not be counted in the main examination.


    The total marks of the written examination will be 1750 Marks.


    The Interview/Personality Test will be of 275 marks.

    Summary of the Latest Pattern of Civil Services (Mains) Examination


    Paper 1 Essay - 250 Marks


    Paper - II - Language -300 Marks


    Paper - III -English -300 Marks


    Paper-IV - General Studies-I 250 Marks (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society)


    Paper-V - General Studies -II: 250 Marks (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)


    Paper-VI - General Studies -III 250 Marks (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)


    Paper-VII - General Studies -IV 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)



    NOTE : Marks carried by General Studies was 4 X 250=1000



    Paper-VIII Optional Subject - Paper 1 -250 Marks


    Paper-IX Optional Subject - Paper II -250 Marks


    Sub Total (Written test) : 2350 Marks


    * * Marks of English and Language will not be counted so total marks for Written exam will be 2350 MINUS 600 = 1750 Marks


    Interview/Personality Test - 275 marks

    Yes dear you can go for civil services exam after your mba course as any graduate can apply for this exam.
    ELIGIBILITY:
    <>Any graduate who has done his graduation from a recognised university can apply for this exam.
    <>age limit:
    General-21 to 30 years
    obc-21 to 33 years
    sc/st-21 to 35 years.
    Civil services exam is conducted every year by upsc.thank you
