Doing mba after b.tech is a good combination as it helps the candidates to excel in both the fields so a person gets technical as well as managerial knowledge. So he becomes a combo of mba+b.tech .

    3. MBA in HR

    4. MBA in Marketing

Out of the above, the highly suggestable specialisation is MBA IT.

The following are the universities from where you can go for correspondance mba in the above fields.

    1 ICFAI University
    2 Banglore University
    3 IGNOU
    4 Symbiosis University
    5 Annamalai University
    6 Nalanda Open University,Pune
    7 NMIMS University

Re: Which department should i select in MBA through correspondence after completing B.Tech in IT?

I suggest you to look for job opportunities on the basis of your B.Tech in IT rather than opting for MBA course in Correspondence. Because, in current scenario, IT is in good boom and there are number of job opportunities for B.Tech IT candidates in various IT companies like
    -TCS
    -Wipro
    -Infosys
    -Genpact
    -Mahindra Satyam
    -Tech Mahindra
    -Google
    -Syntel etc.

In order to be eligible for many of the IT companies, you should be a career 60 candidate in the sense you should have scored a minimum of 60% of marks in all the academic levels.

If you are a career 60 candidate, I suggest you to look for jobs based on B.Tech in IT. Once you get 2-3 years of industry experience in IT jobs, obviously you will be paid excellent salaries and you may get abroad opportunities too especially with companies which involve in outsourcing.

You can do MBA course while doing job also through
    -Executive MBA program or
    -Part time MBA program.

As far as the best specialization in MBA which best suit your profile is
    -MBA in Information Technology or
    -MBA in Systems Management

If you opt for any of these specializations, the knowledge that you have gained in your B.Tech course will be better utilized. If you are not interested to pursue MBA in technical related streams, then you can opt for the specialization which you are interested.

Here are some of the popular specializations under MBA course.

    -MBA in Finance
    -MBA in Marketing Management
    -MBA in Human Resource Management
    -MBA in Systems Management
-MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
    -MBA in Retail Management
    -MBA in Aviation
    -MBA in Hospital Management
    -MBA in Tourism

Whichever the specialization you will opt for MBA course, try to gain more subject knowledge and enhance communication skills. Try to participate actively in various management programs of MBA course which will benefit you in enhancing soft skills which will be very vital for you to perform well in the jobs.

Some of those activities or programs are
    -Business Quiz
    -Ad Making
    -Group Discussions
    -Seminars
    -Presentations
    -Lectures
    -Market Makers
    -Conferences
    -Mock Interviews etc.

    Wish you all the best.
