Dear if you want to become as IAS officer then you should have following eligibility criteria :

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government standards as 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

You are eligible to apply for IAS exam and you can apply for this exam between these following dates

Start date for online application - 02-02-2013

Last date for online application - 04-03-2013

Date for UPSC Preliminary exam - 19-05-2013

Preliminary test - This is the first test in this exam in which you would have to qualify two objective type papers and each paper would be conducted for 200 marks

Mains exam - If you qualify the prelims exam then you would be eligible to apply for mains exam and in this exam you would have to qualify 9 papers in conventional type pattern and qualifying in each is necessary and mains exam would be conducted for 2000 marks

Interview Process - If you qualify both prelims and mains then you would be called for interview process in UPSC board and it has 300 marks and if you qualify this test also then you would become an IAS officer

You would have to join any good coaching institute to prepare for this exam because presently your level is Zero about IAS exam and only in coaching institute you can prepare well for this exam

If you want to apply for this exam then you would have to visit at www.upsc.gov.in then click at - UPSC Online applications and you would find out the exam name but visit only after the registration starts and for your kind information that UPSC board does not accept the application for IAS post through offline mode

    All the best
