You cannot go for M.Tech direct. If you want to do M.Tech now then first of all you have to do M.Sc. M.Sc. and MCA and M.Sc. IT are such degrees which is considered equivalent to the B.Tech. In which field you want to do M.Tech in that field you need to do M.Sc. Means if you want to do M.Tech in computer Science then you need to do MCA/M.Sc. IT/M.Sc CS. And also if you want to go for the electronics field then you need to do M.Sc. in Electronics or Physics or Mathematics. Then you will be eligible for the M.Tech. Most of the universities like IIT want M.Sc. with 60% or 70% above marks.

If you want to do PhD after M.Tech then you can go for the M.Tech-PhD Integrated Course which is offered by IIT Kanpur. The eligibility criteria is same i.e. B.Tech or M.Sc. Degree. But if you want to do B.Ed. then it is the School Teaching Training Degree. In that case you should give the entrance test of B.Ed. and then you will be eligible for the School Teacher in various govt. or private schools. In that case you can do M.Sc. if you want to do Master Degree and there is no any need of M.Tech degree here because what is work of M.Tech degree in schools teaching. But if you want to do M.Tech and also go for the Teaching then you have to fill the UGC NET entrance exam form. In this you will be Lecturer of any Engineering Institute in India. To see the full details of M.Tech-Phd integrated course in IIT Kanpur click here. Best of luck.
