    Can i apply for NET/SET after completing MBA from SMU through distance learning program? If yes, then for which subject i should apply for?

    Dear sir/Madam ,
    I pursuing my MBA in distance learning from sikkim manipal university. i want to apply for net/set exam for lecturer in MBA Collage. can i eligible for NET/ set after MBA ? & If yes than suggest me in which subject i apply for?

    yes, any Post graduate candidates who secured minimum 55% Marks in Post graduation are eligible for NET/SET Examination. It is not mentioned in the official website or in the Notification that only Regular candidates are eligible for NET. So If you have completed your Post graduate degree course then you are eligible for NET.

    To apply for NET/SET Examination, you have to fulfill the given eligibility Criteria :

    ~~ You have to complete your Post graduation with minimum 55% Marks
    ~~ Final year appearing candidates are also eligible for NET
    ~~ You must have attained the age of 19 years
    ~~ There is no Upper age restriction to apply for Lectureship Post
    ~~ But for Junior Research fellowship Post, your age should not be more than 28 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

    The Notification of NET Examination was already declared and the Online Registrations was also started.

    The examination fees of NET is Rs 450 and you have to pay the fees through challan form in SBI Bank, The challan form is availiable in the official website. So please visit the official website and download the challan form.

    You have to choose the subjects in NET/SET on the basis of your Post graduation only. If you subject is not mentioned then you have to choose Related subjects.

    There are 3 papers in NET Examination and all are Objective, No negative marking in the examination.

    The examination will be held soon on 24/June/2012 and the last date of online Registration 07/May/2012.

    I cleared SET exam in December 2010.I did my graduation in BSc (Zoology) and after graduation i completed MBA in HRM & Marketing.After going through the SET Result 2010 notification when i approached the SET NE region commission for the pass certificate,they said that as i hv done BSc then MBA so i'm not eligible for the pass certificate.It was like a nightmare for me.I was helpless.I want to knw whether there is any UGC norm or notification like this. kindly let me know.
