    Hello friend, The minimum qualification required to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. you should have minimum of 50% marks in it .as you mentioned that you are pursuing your Btech from KARNATAKA OPEN STATE UNIVERSITY AND it is recognized by the ugc and aicte .you are eligible to sit in an any entrance exam for admission to mba and pgdm.some good exams are cat for 13 iims and other reputed institutes.xat for xlri and other related institutes. Cmat replacing all state exams for mba admission.based upon your scores in above mentioned exams you will be called by different colleges if you have filled their forms for their gd/pi process. Every college conducts its gd /pi process.top reputed institutes Candidates with appropriate industry experience will have an added advantage for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage (in terms of the company & the role they have worked and the duration of the work experience). Work hard for up coming future exams.regards and all the best

    Hi Nikhil,
    Hope you are in good health and good state of mind!
    It's always a treat and fun to answer your queries.
    I also appreciate the confidence that you have shown in us!

    To get into MBA,you need to appear for MBA entrance exams such as CAT,GMAT,MAT,IIFT,XAT and SNAP.
    These are the top most exams that you should aim to crack in order to get into a good B-School.

    Most of the exams ask that the candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste(SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Persons with Disability (PWD) category).

    Always keep two things in mind-
    1) Hard work is the only ladder to success
    2) Practice makes a man perfect

    Keep doing hard work and burn your night lamps!

    I hope I have answered all your doubts.
    It was a pleasure answering your queries.
    Hope that you'll come up with some more challenging queries!
    Till then,take care.

    Re: Admission process for regular MBA after B.Tech.?

    Dear friend,

    First of all , best of luck for your final year exams.

    Before knowing the process of MBA admissions , you have to know the Minimum Qualification to pursue that course.

    MBA is the professional course which is an abbreviated form of Master of business Administration.
    The course will be for two years with 4 semesters.

    Eligibility Criteria :
    1.Must be a graduate with any discipline from any recognized university from India.
    2.Aggregate marks in Graduation should be minimum of 50% .
    3.In case of Sc/St , the aggregate marks can be minimum of 45%.
    4.There is no Age Limit.

    If you have such qualification , you are eligible for the course MBA.

    To get admission into MBA course , one must appear for any entrance test and pass.

    Some of the Entrance Tests :
    CAT (Common Aptitude Test)
    MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
    State level CETs (Common Entrance Tests like ICET) , etc.

    The seat allotment will be done on the basis of score secured in the entrance test.

    The Syllabus will be almost same for all the above Entrance tests.

    Syllabus mainly consists of :
    1.Reasoning Ability
    2.Quantitative Aptitude
    3.English Grammar
    4.General Knowledge with reference to the business , marketing.
    5.Computer Knowledge .

    If you prepare for this , you can even government jobs because the syllabus will be same for that too.

    So , after getting such good score in the entrance test , you need to attend Counseling where you have to choose the colleges in which to study MBA.
    After that , the seat will be allotted .

    All The Best..

    MBA or Master of Business Administration is perhaps one of the most sought after courses in India..For pursuing MBA..you need to clear any of the following entrance exams with a good percentile..then only you can get admission into a very good MBA college

    1)CAT - Common Admission Test - a very good percentile in this exam will let you enter into the best MBA college in India i.e. IIM(Indian Institute of Management)

    2)XAT - Xavier Admission Test - a good percentile in this exam will let you enter into the prestigious Xavier Colleges of India

    3)MAT - MAT score will enable you to take admission into various good colleges all over India for MBA

    4)FMS - Prestigious College for MBA

    5)Symbiosis - A very renowned college of India..

    to make it to these colleges..you need to work hard and should have a very strong vocabulary..

    its better if you join a good coaching centre like TIME or Career Launcher

    You are in 2nd year of B.TECH , and you have said that you wanted to MBA from IIM'S or any top business school , so friend in order to study MBA course from top B-college , you need to appear for any one of the MBA entrance exam : These are as follows :

    * * CAT

    * * MAT

    * * SNAP

    * * GMAT

    * * MH-CET

    * * XAT

    * * ICET etc ......

    Note : For admission to IIM'S Institute , the entrance exam that you need to sit is CAT ( compulsory ) as this exam is conducted by IIM'S institute only , and the cut-off for open category is above 90 percentile , whereas for OBC it is : 80-85 percentile , and for SC/ST : it is 70-80 percentile .

    There is no such kind of subject that you should be having for doing MBA course , the only thing that is required is Graduation degree with 50 percentage minimum .

    The Written Tests examines the competency in

    * * Quantitative Ability -QA

    (include problems related to Number Systems, P & L , Percentages, Averages, Progression, Work, Speed, Geometry and Algebra)

    * * Data Interpretation –DI( Required to evaluate and give precise information from Tables, Charts and Graphs)

    Verbal Ability –VA is a test of your English knowledge Reading Comprehension (RC)

    General Awareness/Business Awareness (GA/BA)

    Logical Reasoning –LR (examine the skills on Data Sufficiency exercises, puzzles and deductive reasoning).

    Date of notification regarding exam 2013: will be releasing soon in the official website of CAT exam , so please visit this page : http://www.catiim.in/

    GOOD LUCK ! !
