Re: Is 50% in bachelor's degree compulsory to pursue MBA course?

    Hello Friend ,

If you wish to apply for Regular course , then 50% in Graduation is compulsory (45% for SC/ST Candidate) followed by entrance tests .

However there is no such requirement for distance MBA courses in the universities like IGNOU, SMU, IMT, etc.

Re: Is 50% in bachelor's degree compulsory to pursue MBA course?

Dear guest , you have heard it right ….although some MBA entrance examinations like MAT don’t place any limitation on the age criterion, but the Indian govt has already passed the law stating that no candidate having less than 50% in graduation will be entertained for admission to the MBA programs in any college in the country ,no matter govt. or private

However ,if you belong to an SC / ST / OBC category ,you would be given a 5 % relaxationwhich means that you would be admitted to MBA even if you have obtained upto 45% in graduation ……

    Hi,

Dear Aspirant, to sit in entrance exams of MBA like CAT, XAT, ATMA, a candidate should have minimum 50% marks in graduation.
Whereas for Reserved category SC/ST students provision of relaxation in marks is there, i.e, minimum of 45% is needed in graduation for reserved category students.
There are some institutes and universities which do not follow limitation of marks in graduation, most of them provide distance learning private MBA, like SMU, IGNOU, PTU etc.

    All the best.

    Dear pal,
    • To do masters you require bachelor degree. Without good marks Bachelor degree is no use as you can not apply for all the entrance exams
    • For appearing in all the entrance exam minimum of 50% is required in the bachelor degree.
    • Only in few entrance exam conducted by certain university there is relaxation in the marks and it is based on their admission norms. Not necessary that they should have a fixed minimum marks.
    • To do MBA in distant education you require just bachelor degree and marks required do not matters. The course is available only under few university namely Tamil Nadu open university, IGNOU etc.
    • Distant education courses saves you time and you can make use of it for your job.
    • But the distant education is [COLOR="Navy"] not recognised by all companies they give less priority when compared to the aspirant with regular degree.
